Worse: it's from Woot, who has a long reputation of shipping more damaged higher priced items, than even "scratch and dent" can suggest. Often very difficult in issuing refunds as well.

250 nits is what new low-end trash from the likes of HP is normally equipped with. At least this one was a bit higher quality than that. Still fine for productivity as long as you are indoors.

I had this laptop until a few months ago, nicest laptop I ever had, the screen was fine, unless you like being outdoors in the bright sunlight, this is perfectly acceptable indoors during the day, I just appreciate that the integrated graphics actually has some power, I used it for some light video editing and playing video games surprisingly

32 GB ram offering was being advertised on monthly deals here for a while. But recently, most posts lately have been 16GB but hovering around $200. Waiting [probably won't happen] on very slick deals on two 32GB sticks to put on this model that I am typing on. Yea, streaming vids in lit room can be underwelming. But, most of my work is on productivity and basic youtube. Keyboard is NICE

No idea why this is being upvoted. This is the bottom of the barrel condition, being scratch and dent, which the OP has not mentioned anywhere in his post.
We've had this refurb in conditions ranging from good-to-excellent eBay for this price and even lesser, with the latter being just a few hours ago. They make rounds every other day.
I find no reason to spend this much money on a S&D conditioned device.

You're exaggerating. Make your story objectively realistic to earn our buy in

It a gamble. $243 bucks is nothing compared to to $1200+ gaming laptop

What a ridiculous point and comparison to make. No one looking to buy a gaming laptop would consider this to begin with.
The whole point is that this shouldn't be a gamble when we've had better deals and conditions of this laptop regularly

They have the lowest cost ps4 a few months after the ps4 came out. I bought the and it went bad in under 1-3 months. Whatever time it was The woot warranty expired and I ended up paying 100$ more than a new ps4 and wait a few months to get any functionality. Woot knew there was a problem and screwed me!

Bought one refurbished $200 from ebay and returned it. Some cosmetic scratches but nothing big, battery health 84%, 11000 hrs SSD. Made quality is decent, cpu is decent, RAM enough for normal work, 2xssd slots, 2xRAM slots, however major down was the screen looks a bit washed which was the key reason I returned. Year 2025 definitely needs at least 2.5k screen with at least 72% NTSC for a 14 inch for me. Yeah, you are right, what do you expect for a $200 laptop.
