Ubisoft DRM is so bad on Steamdeck/Linux, I played about half of Far Cry Primal and then it broke for 2 years before magically working again.

i bought at $35 and would say it's worth $40 easily.

beautiful game, story is great, characters are compelling and lovable. Kay is confident but also imperfect and clumsy in a VERY Han Solo-esque way. the world feels more alive and lived-in than any other Star Wars game save maybe KOTOR — you really get a sense for what everyday life is like for regular people under the thumb of the Empire at its peak. lore callbacks are fantastic without feeling fanservicey or forced — I love that you can discover old Clone Wars-era stuff despite this being Empire-era.

rewards for exploration often justify exploring. discovering the location of collectibles and side quests and upgrade parts in this game is PERFECT — you learn about rumors just by overhearing conversations walking around town, which i wish more games did instead of forcing you to insert yourself into every conversation.

combat is mid. very early on, Kay grows out of feeling scrappy and becomes disbelievingly overpowered, esp vs Imperials, but it feels like a gameplay affordance rather than lore intentionality. factions are a neat idea but underbaked — would have been CRAZY good with the nemesis system. the overall gameplay loop gets a lil repetitive over time, but not so soon that i couldn't make it to the end of the game, mainly due to story investment.

not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination. but absolutely underrated. i don't regret it in the slightest.

Definitely the lowest it has been on PC.

I just picked it up on Steam for $21. It's a fun game, but it wasn't worth $70 at launch.

I kind of hate buying things directly on Ubisoft Connect, and much prefer buying Ubisoft games on Steam. I got this game working on my ROG Ally with SteamOS, and managing the game from Ubisoft Connect is a pain vs SteamOS.

It's showing up as $22 for me - not sure why. But even then I'd say it's worth it. Curious about the difference though.
Use the coupon HOLIDAY to take off $10

Thanks for the input on SteamOS. I use bazzite and plan on staying away if it is a pain to get working there. I'll wait until it can be purchase directly from steam.

I would have considered buying some of these games but there's no way I'm gonna have another game launcher with battlenet, steam, epic and the EA apps already clogging my system tray...

The benefit in buying directly from Ubisoft is that you can link your Ubi account with your Amazon Prime Gaming account and play any of your owned Ubisoft games on damn near any device that will allow Amazon Luna (even an old tablet) for no additional cost.

I like getting directly from Ubi because I can play this from the cloud on a Fire TV.

I look forward to doing that with this game too.

Careful, games that only launch through Ubisoft Connect is a nightmare. I haven't been able to play Outlaws since it came out. It crashes you out of game every single time it Autosaves the game. Tried EVERYTHING they suggested and did all updates. Still can't play more than 5-10 minutes each session. I wish they would get rid of it.

In 4 Outlaws. Don't care about how bad Ubi sucks blah blah blah. I like their same same open world fetch quest games. I even like that pirate ship game where I can just go around farking up every ship I come across out in the sea. Paid $4 for it and put over 100 hours in it at the very least.woot

Sadly this has been the norm for PC gaming for years, you need at least 10 launchers to play your games. You can always group them all in a folder or something to keep the together.

Rockstar Launcher, Steam, GOG Galaxy, Battle.Net, Epic, EA (and the former Origin), Ubisoft Connect, Amazon Games, Humble, Bethesda, Xbox, Legacy Games, and I'm sure there's others I'm forgetting. Fortunately something like Playnite helps corral your library, at least somewhat.

Played it start to finish no problems, you may have underlying hardware issues or maybe I just got lucky. And I finished it long before they patched it up, too.

Wow. This actually worked. For once I have a reason to... not buy a game on Steam. Too bad the games I want from the sale are precision platformers. Also, I wonder how hard it would be to get my Steam Input setup to work with Luna through the browser.

The Winter Steam Sale is in six hours. If you really want these games on Steam might as well check the price then. No codes needed.

I came here to say exactly this. I actually got a Luna controller + fire stick 4k max during another black Friday slickdeal and since I've got prime anyway, linking my Ubi and GOG accs to Luna has opened up a whole new world. I have a (refurb + coupon) Logitech G Cloud and Luna works great on there, but there is less input lag when using the Luna controller thanks to the "cloud direct" link-up instead of Bluetooth. But anyways yes Luna is quietly on the same level of GeForce Now or the Xbox gamepass cloud gaming thing. And if you already have Prime there's a bunch of games on there, but for me the value was bringing most of my Ubisoft and some of my gog library over to it. It also lets me seamlessly switch games between devices so if I wanna pop what's on my handheld to the TV or vice versa it's a simple feature. Also works on PC just pull up Luna in a browser.

Also GOG has quite the winter sale going and you can filter by what's available on Luna; one sort of underrated hidden gem I've found so far is CHORUS (stylized as CHORVS) for $2.49; works perfectly on Luna, and you have all the usual gog benefits (drm free installers and such).

Anyway sorry for the long reply, but I just wanted to vehemently agree with you, the Luna connection can't be understated and really brings more value to the average Ubisoft purchase (or GOG purchase, just make sure the game is on Luna... I was surprised to see stuff like HK/Silksong available).

For those who like to play Assassins Creed a couple versions behind to save money, Mirage Standard Edition plus the map pack (shows you where in game collectibles are without having to find/pay cartographer) total exactly 19.99 - $10 HOLIDAY code = $9.99, tying historical low for just the standard edition alone.

Seems like a waste of my RTX 3090 to stream at 1080p medium settings.
