The ones on Woot are usually the watered down "non Pro" version. The Pro versions don't come up as often, and when they do they sell out almost immediately. Got to get them quick before sell out. Seems like they only have a handful of the Pro versions on Woot, and gone in minutes/hours.

I needed a docking station right away, so got this Amazon deal. Return window is until January 31, 2026, in case something better comes along. Also, based on reviews, seems like about 10% of these are bad right out of the box, so gives me a couple months to use it to confirm I got a good one. Wonder if Woot ones are really "new", or "like new repackaged returns", don't know.

Bought this in September for $35 (Woot). It's been working flawlessly connected to a macbook and 2 monitors. Won't hesitate to buy another as backup if the deal returns.

I think they had this one on Woot for a few hours , but I missed it.

I like $35 better than $70, but $70 now and I need it now is good.

I got one this summer from Woot. Functionally, it's fine. I would prefer the uplink port to be on the back on the unit, rather than on the side with the power button. It would be a sleeker desk setup that way.

As with anything with a cheap external power brick, that'll die at an inconvenient time and be nearly impossible to replace.

Been using this recently with my Asus laptop, works well enough using the one USB-C thunderbolt cable for two external monitors. I added a displaylink -to - HDMI USB adapter to get a third monitor out. The main screen dips out very occasionally, I think there might be some bandwidth issues driving 3 monitors and a webcam from one laptop port, might just be my laptop. Sticking to wifi instead of using the dock's ethernet port just in case. Dock gets warm but not crazy hot. Overall pretty good price and functionality considering the price.

I got two when they were on sale. One works great. The other has issues with wake up where the monitor turns on and off repeatedly until I cycle the dock. Might be the monitor though....

If the power brick dies, you can use this adapter:

https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-6-...B0F1YDQSGJ

Then use a USB-C power supply that is 100W Output 20V 5A , something like one of these:

https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Ch...B0BY8VJ4MS
https://www.amazon.com/Charger-An...B0C1FZWT8M

HP and Dell used to use this standard, when they used barrel jack power supplies, you might even already have one if you have any old HP or Dell laptop power supplies laying around. Or you might already have a 100W 20V 5A USB-C power supply if you have it for your iPhone, Mac, iPad, or other device.

did you try disabling usb and display video card and monitor in your power plan settings in windows 11? might be a Screensaver setting too. Sleep is very buggy too.

Multiple times at $35. Good design, bad price. Thunderbolt 3 is nearly identical and supports USB4 40 Gbps.

Would never pay this.

It's on Mac devices. It's def my monitor. Plugged into a portable monitor with zero issues, so the dock is solid and glad I purchased

Got mine today. Works great. Just wish the laptop USB-C connector was on the BACK of the unit instead of on the FRONT, which makes it look cluttered with the cable wrapped around to the front.

I did have issues getting it to work on external displays (both Thunderbolts and HDMI), none worked. Even though monitors worked fine before directly plugged into the laptop. After Google searching and reading some forums found a fix.

(1) Plug monitor cable directly into laptop again, go to display settings, advanced display settings, then change the "Refresh Rate" to 60 Hz. Shut Down Laptop (not restart, full shut down).
(2) Now unplug monitor cable from laptop, and plug it into the docking station port.
(3) Power the laptop on again. Then it works on the dock.
(4) Then you can go back into your Display settings and bump up the Refresh Rate back to a higher rate.

Seems like the docking station only initially "recognized" the monitor at 60 Hz the first time. But then once it is recognized, it works fine and you can change display settings to whatever you want at that point.

Wound up returning this and getting the CalDigit TS4.

This Amazon Basic one is to buggy, have to unplug it, mess around with it, etc. Especially went going between work and personal laptops. Also, the Laptop plug in the front is a ridiculous design, needs to be in the back. $35 Woot deal is about all this thing is worth.

The CalDigit "just works". High build quality, and plug and play works beautifully. Nicest piece of hardware on my desk right now. Really nice to see such a high built quality these days, when all the other PC equipment being manufactured is getting cheapened up in a race to the bottom.
