I've noticed that over the last 5-10 years you really have to stick with quality brands to get down in puffer coats. I used to find them in Walmart versions of puffers but now I only see polyfill.

REI and Eddie Bauer had some fairly affordable down options.

yep, you're not wrong! Hence my negative sentiment toward the enshittification with these plastic-heavy garments.
