Highly recommend saving a bit and get a Pro 2. It has Hall Effect sticks and gives the option of a replaceable battery pack or AA batteries. No dealing with an internal dying down the road and having to take the thing apart to replace it.

I don't. I could never tell the difference. I prefer being able to swap out my own battery without taking the controller apart. That is the advantage the Pro 2 gives. It comes with a rechargeable battery that is removable and replaceable. You can also use AAs as an option and Eneloops are rechargeable and very affordable.

Your loss. It comes with a rechargeable battery so you never have to use AAs unless you choose to. That rechargeable dies though and you have options and can replace it by just taking off the back battery cover. No prying the thing apart and hoping you can find a decent replacement battery years later when it won't charge anymore.
