privacy is pretty much over your data is harvested by your TV if you use a smart tv, your ISP, your streaming devices, your cell phone, if you have a nest thermostat or ring camera anywhere! Your forked unless you have only wired internet into your house and turn your pc off when not using it and put your cell phone into a faraday bag. Then you still have to make sure you don't have any bluetooth devices in your house with long range bluetooth as those devices will just connect to your neighbor's equipment and harvest your data that way! Basically privacy is long over but its ok because your probably streaming all your personal life's ongoings on your Facebook page anyways!

I'm not sure if you're referring to a non-connected TV or not but for a connected TV;
Camera and mic aren't needed to glean ACR data. ACR is the mechanism that harvests your data, button pushes, what you're watching, how long, how often you change channels, shows, etc. This data is shared (sold) to the content providers (among others) to target you for advertising, products,etc.
Under the hood it's much more complex than that but that's the jist.

Coupled with a microphone and camera - it's beyond intrusive Smilie

Some of us are not so willing to acquiesce and we keep the fight going on every front we can. If you want to give up. roll over, play dead, that's certainly your option. A person can actually have an impact of stemming that theft of their PII. Sometimes by depriving them of it. Sometimes feeding them misinformation. Remember, the only thing better then given them no data is given them bad data.

You don't need a camera to capture a screenshot. Rokus do not have cameras but many smart TVs do. That's a separate discussion and an altogether separate, exploitable, free pass into your living room and bed room. That's why it is a good idea to never connect a TV directly to a network. Always front-end it with another device, like an NVidea Shield (or Apple TV), and even a Roku or a Firestick will accomplish that. You just have to put up with the other data harvesting BS from Roku and Firestick,

If your not air gapping your home and keeping all bluetooth devices and smart devices out of your home you are wasting your time! Also don't accept any EULA or click on any website. If you want something to change contact your legislators and pressure them to pass laws! Do you shop anywhere with an account AKA Amazon, Walmart, Target plus, yep that is data mining you as well. Got a Costco membership......pointless in 2025 to even try IMO! NEST thermostat? Ring doorbell? Do you own a smartphone, better deGoogle it or or if you own an Apple product your just a flat out hypocrite?
