It says "return to any TSC for replacement", so I'm sure they just exchange it.

Walmart sells a few Jobsmart tools, like the flashlights and hex wrenches, but I think it's 99% a TSC brand.

these are widely used, construction/hvac etc, just not much for cars

No, it actually is relevant as impact drivers/wrenches place different forces/stresses on the tool which is why tools are "impact rated".

But, these are probably just fine.
