Capilene is 50spf, echo only 15-20 depending on color. You will still burn wearing an echo, which doesn't mean it's bad, and is a great price. I own multiple of both.

The only problem with his fabric is it is very clingy. There's no texture so it sticks to you like a plastic bag when you get sweaty.

Don't know about you, but two and a half hours of sun protection isn't much when people are putting on "sun shirts". Again I love these shirts, but if you are a pale white irish type you will still burn quickly.
VS an SPF 50 shirt taking that same white irish type out to over 8 hours before starting to burn.
I have found this shirt allows me to exert the most work when I need to before I get to the edge of overheating and need to hold back a lottle. The breathability is the best of all I have tried by a good margin and I can feel even a very light breeze on my skin through it This comes at the cost of reduced UV protection but I have high SPF sunblock on under anyways. This is a tradeoff I am willing to make as I run very hot and can sweat a lot. This is the color I have, typically I have only seen the darker ones this deeply discounted.
Hood is big enough to allow for good face/neck protection without blocking any vision. I can stretch the hood over the brim of a baseball cap which is awesome.
Super lightweight and does not feel particularly durable. I remember thinking it wouldn't last though half a summer but mine has lasted three seasons now without anything more than cosmetic damage and staining. No loose threads or seams but can look a little beat up and stretched out after only a couple of uses. I would say that this shirt is pure function over fashion and could be a little niche.
Actually as I am typing and thinking about this, I may order a couple more to give as gifts.
Maybe I just don't remember what is was like new, mine is now three seasons old and very soft but it's probably been through the laundry over 100 times.
