Turn based. Probably not. They love to mash buttons.

What about DLC? Shouldn't I wait for a complete edition instead?

Speak for yourself my nephew is obsessed with Pokémon and loves the turn based battles. Regardless turn based would teach them patience and help practice problem solving skills through the tactical combat

I got this recently and wish listed the season pass. They had a great sale for the first one not that long ago and since I have a big backlog across multiple consoles, I'll just wait for a similar deal for this one

This is not that kind of turn-based. It's a tactics game. It takes more strategy.

My 5 and 8 year old struggled to understand the game at first. After a few hours with me helping they have a basic understanding but sometimes still get stuck bc they pressed the wrong button in battle or didn't know how to end the turn but they picked up the turn based and cover system pretty quick

Beat this game. Challenge is there. Don't have to be a genius but it helps greatly if you played tactics game before as the levels progressively get more difficult.
I wouldnt get it for any more than 10 bucks. Rabbids collaboration feels weird. So random imo. And this is a code download so makes it worse.
