I learned the other day some Tapo models can replace their firmware with Thingino which is open source and has more features

not sure how to do it yet but interesting https://thingino.com/

Instead of using a Micro SD on each camera, which TP-Link local storage model do I have to buy for 4 cameras?

I guess you are asking which tapo supports local network recording using rtsp and etc. You need to buy non-battery wired ones. Tapo battery solar panel ones doesn't support 24 hr recordings nor transmits rtsp streams.

I have two of these and they are fantastic. I bought them individually so I paid more. This is a great deal, IMO.

I found this. Probably these Cameras are compatible with this. I can use as a CCTV system without paying subscription.

Not sure if the Tapo H500 hub works with all their cameras.

One downside of this camera is that someone can easily snatch it because it's just a magnet that's attaching it to its base.

According to a q&a:
Tapo TCB82 Wire-Free Indoor/Outdoor Security Cameras support recording to a microSD card in multiple ways. One method is to install a microSD card in each camera, so that the camera can record directly to it. Another method is by using a Tapo Hub, such as the H200, to record to a microSD card inserted into the hub. The hub can also act as a network connection for the camera, if desired, by toggling the option in the Tapo app.

It appears that the H500 is compatible with these cameras. More expensive than the H200, but far more functional.
These hubs keep your videos safe if someone steals the camera.

Product has reached "End of life status". Battery isn't easily user replaceable. I wasn't able to find any video or guild. It might even be custom battery shape design like my wyze battery door camera.

The battery life has been surprisingly awesome on the one I put up this fall. First charge after about 2 months of use. Grabbed a pair of these to put up elsewhere given the great experience.
My only drawback has been that I can't get these to pull up through my Google home screens.

These won't put out an rstp stream so they will not work with Frigate.
