96gb of ram? This could be considered an investment.

edit: no joke, the RAM alone is going for $760 at B&H and MicrosoftCenter.

Nearly $1500, but 60Hz is insane.
"14" WUXGA (1920 x 1200), IPS, Anti-Glare, Non-Touch, 100%sRGB, 500 nits, 60Hz, Low Power"
It's a totally fine resolution and refresh rate for business usage. Not everyone is poppin' a cap in an alien's exhaust port in some videya game if you know what I mean.

And what would constitute a "sane" battery? One that's passed DSM-V certification?

This was about the same price in the last few weeks as well. Not sure if it's quite a slick deal since this appears to be a typical price point for this config for quite some time now. Slick deal was when the 64GB 1TB config of this model went for $709 a few weeks ago.

Very true. I have an earlier model, you'd be lucky to get 4 hours out of it with light web browsing usage. Can't imagine how short the life would be if you were actually doing something that requires 24 threads and all the RAM.
