Why do you need a 240W cable?
Is it something special that negotiates higher wattage? Is it a specific thing to Apple, or is it part of USB-C standard?

Macbook pro and a few laptops support USB PD EPR for over 100W charging, so 240w cables are good for that or futureproofing, but tbh there's not much need for most people for them over 100W cables and 240w cables tend to be thicker/more rigid as well.

This is really expensive for a 6ft 240w cable though, there's really no reason to go for the Apple cables when it's an open standard with plenty of very high quality options for cheaper, ex: Anker.

The 240W ones look and feel great and don't tangle. I have no issues getting 140W to my laptop (laptop and charger limit not the cable). But they are charging cables, not data cables, and only support USB 2 speed. You're not getting thunderbolt speeds for $20, and definitely not from Apple.

Also can't be 2m length for Thunderbolt or USB 4 certification for full data rate.

Sure it can (I realize the cable in the OP is not Thunberbolt), but we've had 2m TB3 and TB4 cables for years.

Forgot about that, I still don't know why Apple is the only one that can offer a certified 3m passive cable. It's still the only option unless you want to gamble on non-certified (tbh none of my 2m cables have had issues).
