Not high speed data, but for charging they work well. I have a couple of these and they are durable and work well with my Apple products.

I wouldn't be surprised if in another 10 years USB-C becomes the defacto power source for many electronic items. 240W is a heck of a lot of power as semiconductor process shrinks. Could power your big screen TV with USB-C.

Thunderbolt is a protocol developed by Apple and Intel. Thunderbolt 3 and higher use USB-C form factor. This cable may not be Thunderbolt if it can't handle high speed data transfer, but you'd also need a port that can handle/push it.

Are these marked in some way to reflect that they can do 240w? I don't see anything in the listing photos, my family keeps confusing our higher charging cables from the lower charging speed ones.

(obviously this does look like a thicker cable with bigger connectors)
