I assume you mean mouse, those are all programmable buttons. Useful for some games and applications that utilize a lot of hotkeys.

If you did mean house, those numbers are your address.

I use my G600 for editing. Or using macros for emailing and controlling music.
These mice are extremely useful.
Basically things that would take 2 hands or multiple steps you can do with a single button.

Having the ability to map keys and hotkeys is very convenient for games and productivity alike.

does anyone know of the main tact switches are the new optical, or older mechanical? I must 'left-click' like a madman because my m65's never last more than 6 mo before they start double clicking by themselves. (the optical supposedly solves this)

Is this the best alternative to a G600? I just reactivated my WOW account and my G600 it's barely hanging on

No, you can buy them still from eBay under logicool g600. Functions the same but way more expensive than it use to be. It'll cost around $100 now.

A lot of games with hot bars ( weapon selection, healing , etc) can be easier to access by a single thumb press rather than reaching thru 1 whatever number on your keyboard or scrolling thru options with your mouse. As others have pointed out, the buttons are basically shortcuts for many things including macros.
