$133 shipped with military discount and tax. The lowest price I've ever seen.

Are you still able to return the batteries if not needed and get the saw at the reduced price?

Only if you want to risk them banning your account from future purchases.

Yes, they have. To me and everyone at my physical address (AND any payment method that was used to ship to my address). Long story, but they absolutely do go after people who do partial returns....aka "the hack".

Are you banned from purchasing Ridgid products or all HD orders?

My address and any payment method that's been used in conjunction with my address (for example, a corporate credit card used to ship materials to my address) are 100% banned from online purchases.

That's me, my father, and my brother. All because my brother bought a Mikwaukee drill and did the "hack".

[My father's workplace is PISSED, since they can't get ANY explanation as to why their corporate account is banned from making purchases. They had to register an entirely new second account and use a previously non-connected payment method. It took about two weeks for them to establish that (lots of back and forth)....so a LOT of business was disrupted.]

For all of this.....Well, so we suspect. We cannot get ANY confirmation, justification, or reasoning from HD. We've escalated it, and it pretty much ends up with "we don't care. if you want to continue to argue this, get legal representation. we can deny sales to anyone for any reason, and we don't have to tell you why." It's unusually harsh and non-transparent.

We think it was the Milwuakee drill "hack", because it happened immediately after that return. And for anyone else who's claiming "you MUST'VE done something else to warrant this!"....nope. I mean, I can't prove that to you just like I can't prove the Easter Bunny isn't a time-traveling vampire using toothbrushes to gently erase history....but it's pretty dang unlikely in both situations.

They did so KINDLY 🙄 allow us to make in-store purchases for online sales. So if we see a deal online, we have to travel to a HD store and place an order in-person. That's a 45 minute drive each way for us.

-----

And here's the rub. I personally don't do the hacks, because I think they're unethical. Buying something for a combination/bulk rate then doing a pro-rated return for undesired merchandise might be technically allowed, but it's not a great way to behave. I personally call it "soft-fraud", but that rustles everyone's jimmies on here.

It's all a matter of "being the change you want to see in the world" and being able to sleep at night knowing one's conduct. I'm not about to change that mindset, and no amount of arguing on here is going to alter that decision. So for HD to punish me for what my brother did, being guilty by association, makes me madder than a hornet.

Holy mother of melodrama. The silly idea that a gigantic corporation like HD doesn't know what they're doing after 10 years of the "hack" in place is laughable.

Great deal, OP.
