I'm traveling to my parents house in Ohio for the holidays and I don't even want to think about how old their surge protectors are. Great timing on this deal as Amazon will deliver these today (and I leave for Ohio tomorrow). Thank you OP!

The clamping voltage is pretty good, 330/400/400. At this price I'd def recommend it over a regular power strip. At full price, I chose to pay for one of their ISOBAR series surge protectors.
That said, if people are looking for surge protection, I'd rather pay $140-$150 for a type 2, whole panel protector. I know that layered protection is recommended, but that's where I'd start. Just my 2c.

Regardless, this is a good deal.
If you're talking about a whole house surge protector that gets installed inside or right outside of the main electrical panel, I'm actually in the market for one. Can you share which one you recommend and what I need to look out for in regards to specs, installation etc? TIA!

You're right. This is useful information, and I don't know why it always gets omitted. https://tripplite.eaton.com/~TLP1208SAT

Has the Tripp Lite quality remained the same since then? Hopefully they're not going to just strip the good Tripp Lite name. 😬
