when you put it in cart and go to check out you will see the 42 dollar price. Just understand what you are buying, read my post above. If you know what you are getting, and you want this product buy it.

very misleading!

What do you think you get with the product in this thread. Do you get a mic? That you see the woman in picture has.

NO, you get no mic. Just be aware what you get. you do need a mic ... but if you get mic and transmitter is it over 100 dollars, and 2 mics it's 200 dollars.

Maybe research this carefully before buying. I did buy it, then I researched it, and cancelled it after I researched it.
DJI Mic 2 Transmitter = Microphone.

Stand alone, this might not be a deal because you need a receiver to activate the Mic and configure the settings. If you have a DJI Action 4, 5, 6 or Pocket 3, those act as receivers for the audio and can modify settings.

I got 1 Dji mic mini previously from AWD and it's fine by itself. Pairs with my S23 Ultra and works natively in the stock camera app or black magic. Even works for strict audio recording. Don't need the DJI app or anything extra.

I am very confused about this and thanks guys for helping me to understand this stuff.

I checked the dji mini package and best buy is selling it for 79 dollars and has 2 mics and one transmitter and case.

Also there is the full package of the dji mic 2 transmitter with 2 mics and case used for 134 dollars as option.

I do own pixel 6a and apple iphone 13, and mac mini m4, would just the transmitter in this thread work (you need mics too , right? .... like your dji mini mic that you own ... and I just bought from best buy ... 5 mins ago). So you don't need the product in this thread at all, right?

What is the advantage of getting this dji 2 mic transmitter if the best buy dji mini package is coming in 2 days.

p.s. Reading over your comment, are you saying you only bought dji mini mic, only and not the complete package with 2 mics and transmitter ... and all you needed was 1 dji mic ONLY... confused about that. confused still.

Themic 2 has 32 bit recording as well as a lav mic 3.5m input, so you can plug an external mic into it.

Are you saying I would only need the device in this thread, and no other dji equipment, and I can plug in external mic into it, and it wil sound good, can I plug any mic into it? Is the dji mini package at best buy not needed. How would you use the device in this thread, what equipment are you using. What I have been doing the last few years is use PC type mic with usb 2 ... to record myself. I was trying to get a wireless setup . I'm exploring options. I tried a 20 dollar cheap option I bought a week ago, that had 2 mics and transmitter I plug into pc usb c. But the sound ...sounded like crap.

p.s. I posted the video from youtube above, and it said you can NOT controllthe options on transmitter, you needed module that will allow the options to show up to change the transmitter. Someone suggested just getting a dji mini recorder to update the transmitter, or something along those lines. I don't own the device, so I'm trying to understand what I need.
And I read reddit comments about the problem with the transmitter. what did you use to be able to change the default settings on this transmitter. What did you use to get it to record right. Do you have other dji equipment.

The item for sale here is the transmitter. It records the audio like any microphone, but it doesn't have the ability to change some of its features.
You need a separate device to do that. It can be the DJI mic 2 receiver, or one of the DJI Osmo cameras like the Action 4, 5, 6 or Pocket 3.

Looking at the comments, people are saying 1) if you just want to change the settings to enable stuff like noise cancellation or whatever, you can just go into best buy and use the display model of another dji product to do that and 2) there is apparently now a $15 usbc smartphone receiver ("DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver") that you can also use to get all the features
The mobile receiver seems to be out of stock right now but for $43 for the mic and $15 for the mobile receiver I think it would probably be pretty good for the total price of $58 compared to other wireless mic products.
Edit: Although it seems like if you don't want to use it with other DJI products and would just be using the mobile receiver, the Lark A1 for $30 with a mic and usb receiver is a pretty well reviewed cheaper alternative.

yes, that it good info. Thanks.

p.s. I checked but couldn't find any where to buy it. Do you have link I can try? 15 dollar answer sounds great. I tried amazon and other places, no luck yet. DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver

This is dji's site that shows what is looks like and it seems perfect, the lady taking a picture using it looks beautiful too.
https://store.dji.com/product/dji...vid=200571

it is not in stock at that dji link (as you stated before) don't know where to look?
