They sold the company and the quality and how long the scent lasts has gone downhill.

Exactly!
It is absolutely not worth the price anymore.
I had a 2015 and 2017 bottle - paid $300-400 each.. both smelled fantastic and lasted me years (like 5 years with occasional use). One spray was WAY more than enough for the day.
This new stuff is watered down garbage. It smells the same, yes. But the projection and longevity are awful. It takes 3 or 4 sprays to get a good scent, and it's almost gone by the time I get to work (45 minute drive). Cremo lasts longer. Just avoid - the old Aventus is dead.

Bought green Irish tweed earlier this year at Costco and quite like it.

Has anyone tried this and intense by armaf ? Had that one awhile back and liked it. Is this worth the premium over the clones ? Or not

Yeah. I get gifted cologne because people don't know what to get me.
Absolutely not worth the premium. I will give Armaf credit because they do not water their product down (at least what I have). You get a lasting smell. $CPB situation - what if we just save money by replacing ingredients with water? Works for a bit...

Can some women tell the difference? Absolutely. Are they happy you don't smell like a combination body odor and Axe body spray? Yes.

But always make sure to order any cologne, parfume, perfume from a reputable distributor. Alibaba and Temu have this for like $8. Totally not a scam.

Can you link to the research?
I don't have the research link handy, but if you can find Rhonda Patrick (PhD) discussing the results of recent broader studies on Youtube that will lead you to it.

As I said, it's all new, and I had the same skeptical reaction when I first heard it. That's not the half of it though; she also talks about the toxicity of the thermal receipts we get at the average store.

I'm pretty sure that if I hear/read/see any more of this kind of research/material I'll be left with one final, but inevitable rational conclusion......

No one - to my knowledge so far - gets out of here alive.... Life causes death....

My favorite thing about Aventus threads on SD are the posts from people who don't like it, never used it, or don't care anything about it telling the few that are interested that's it's overpriced, hated by women and overrated.
Also that Club De Nuit is the best clone because some influencer said so and then someone started posting that on boards and now everyone believes it but the ones claiming it have never tried any other clone

Suggesting the best dupe is as volatile as parfum in general, apparently.

As a person with a 300+ bottle collection of cologne, I strongly recommend checking out Mont Blanc Explorer if you're wanting the old Creed Aventus experience. It's in the same genre as Aventus, but is a well-designed fragrance all on its own.

Although slightly more expensive than the other suggested dupes here, you should be able to easily find this scent in a department store. Unlike the cheaper dupes that aren't generally carried in brick-and-mortar stores, you don't have to blind buy this one.

There isn't one. Aventus has smelled different over the years. Just search for "batch variations". I've never seen a fragrance vary so much from batch to batch, I think they did that intentionally just for hoarders to have multiple bottles of different years. I tried different bottles and currently own a 2016 version that smells amazing (and like no other fragrance or clone).
I also own and have smelled several clones and none capture all the stages of the good years of aventus. I stopped using my bottle because 120ml bottles are valued at over 1 thousand on eBay so I think I'd be a fool to use it knowing some die hards would pay 5 times what I paid for it.

In the end, there are so many great smelling fragrances that you don't need this exact one as no fragrance is magic.

Current versions of aventus are trash, they just riding the fame from their golden years. I much rather buy mont Blanc explorer (captures the opening of Ave tus well but not the dry down) for a fraction than be scammed with current weak aventus.
