No, it should be less. The tablet is already 3 months of data, so don't need to pay more for it. The phones can switch to $35 / mo plan for 2nd month, so just $70 more. So total $190 unlocked after 2 months.

Similarly,
some people might have this in their Amex Offers:

1 phone + 1 tab is $90 (+ tax)
2 phones + 1 tab is $120 (+ tax)

Tab comes with 3 month service and it is already unlocked
For the phones, We need another 1 month service. We can use $35 bronze plan to unlock it

Amex $20 back /Chase 15% has offers

(Very few people has success with buying Walmart $25 Straight Talk top up card & there are some, who rebranded the phone to Tracfone and then bought 90 days plan for $20 and unlocked the phone)

Tab promotion is limited to one per account

Called ST support, apparently they're "escalating" the problem. Not sure if that will help with anything though.
Meanwhile, the 8" tablet still works for the promo so IDK what's wrong with their system
It's good that you called the support.now they increased the price.. why did u do that

Thanks!
Did you ask them by any chance whether you can but extra month later or it must be 60 days of service without interruption to be eligible for unlock?
I didn't ask that. Guess I'll find out if/when I decide to buy the second month.

It's been posted in most TF/ST/TW deals that continuous service is not a requirement.
When they changed the unlock policy last April many users went several weeks without service before they found out they needed a 2nd month. Phones unlocked as expected after they added the additional service.

If you have all the port out info, you can port it out after the service ends (but do it before the PIN expires)

FCC rules that Verizon does not have to UNLOCK phone after 60 days. Not good for those of us that recently got these phones!

Shouldn't be any sticker shock - $100 for 4lines @ 30 days, just $25 to unlock each device is a bargain.

I'd love to be wrong, but I'm pretty sure all the SIMs are bound to the device IMEIs. Tablet is a data-only plan, so it won't work on a phone IMEI, and I wouldn't bet on requesting an IMEI change to another tablet given the promo.
I am wondering if an attempt to activate the tablet line will screw up my refill dates for the phones. I tested the tablet with a cheap hotspot SIM to make sure it is unlocked. I have heard stories where a fresh phone activation will try to synchronize all refill dates to one date - I don't want to deal with that over a tablet.

Recent activated phones might be OK but those waiting for orders are definitely screwed.

I mean frankly it's bad for consumers in general. Even if you don't plan on buying these phones from straight talk or visible this month or whatever, this is going to make things harder for everybody. It's going to create more e-waste, the resale market is going to have more non-compatible phones and up in hands of frustrated consumers. Needless gas spent. People that have financial problems will miss one month on accident during a 12-month period and reset the clock on their unlocking..

The most annoying is now half the time when we buy unlocked used phones from woots or Amazon renewed or eBay I bet many of them end up being promoted and we find out that they're verizon-based MVNOs that are not going to be unlocked unless you pay 12 months concurrent

Or whatever they're going to go with

I was unable to use the hotspot in each phone due to reception issues at my assigned work location. That is tempting me to downgrade to Bronze for month two. I checked the site and to renew Silver for four lines is $108.85 which is close to your estimate of $25 per line - is the rest of it tax related?

When they changed the policy last year April, they applied it retroactively, and everyone got effed. You had to buy a 2nd month to unlock. FCC complaints did nothing.

This time it's different:
"Phones already activated on the Verizon network won't be affected by the waiver, according to the FCC."
IOW they can't make it retroactive like they did before.

This was discussed earlier in the thread. Only way to save cash on renewal is to downgrade your service from Silver to Bronze.

To answer my own question about tablet plan activation - it is treated as an entirely separate animal - a delayed activation did not disrupt the renewal date for the four lines I have on Silver.
