Samsung's S90F is a bright QD OLED TV that stands out for punchy color, strong HDR performance, and especially good dark room picture quality. The 77 inch model is the QD OLED version, and the newer panel is often described as a step up for color luminance and overall impact. The main tradeoffs are no Dolby Vision, possible raised blacks in bright rooms, and some concern about Samsung panel quality and support. Pricing also appears inconsistent, with tax sometimes added at checkout and direct Samsung or open box options sometimes landing close to the deal price.
Common Questions (5)
No, it uses HDR10/HDR10+ instead of Dolby Vision. That is a downside for people who prefer DV content, but several comments note the TV's brightness and HDR performance make the missing format less important for streaming.
The S90F is often favored for dark-room viewing and HDR color performance, while the LG C5 is described as better for bright rooms and SDR. A key caveat is that QD-OLED blacks can rise in ambient light, which can reduce contrast in a daylit room.
Not always. One checkout in California showed $1,599 item price plus $135.92 tax for a $1,734.92 total, and another buyer in New York also saw tax added. The deal page may show a total price, but the final amount can still vary by state and seller.
Yes, the 77-inch S90F is reported to be QD-OLED, while smaller sizes and the 83-inch are WOLED. That matters because the QD-OLED version is described as having better picture quality and higher color luminance.
Yes. With Samsung EPP or EDU pricing plus the Vision AI 10% video discount, the 77-inch was estimated at about $1,619 before tax, and a 65-inch was cited at about $1,133 plus tax. Buying direct may also make warranty handling simpler.

I have the 55" and 65" Sam's Club version of the OLED S90F TVs and at 90 days for the 55 with no issues.
77" LG-G5 is the same so far (will never buy another TV without a stand).
I initially had severe issues with delivery and Samsung + for a washer and dryer. It took 3 months to finally get most of it resolved.
Back to American made appliances the next time.
How much you got it for? Any options to buy extended warranty?
Still not sure if I trust this website though. Also shows no tax in IL...

You are negotiating an ALL IN price to be delivered to your doorstep. They don't have to accept.
I have a feeling that as long as I don't put the C5 and S90F side by side (which I never will), I'd probably be impressed with either one.
I looked at the S90F at Costco but didn't notice the raised blacks however. People say it's a problem if you have lighting conditions that have lights reflecting directly off the screen.
