I like the look of these and I like to imagine myself using one, but I don't actually know of any scenario in my day to day life where I would use this over any other more normal mug lol

Good deal! I bought the cream one before but I have yet to use it. It was a compulsive buy. It will go on in my collection of nice to haves.

I've basically replaced all my glass cups at home with metal vacuum tumblers. Ugly but very utilitarian as they are unbreakable and keep drinks hot/cold. I'm going to give this a try for daily coffee, with the added benefit of being able to slap on the top to take it in my car.

First, the lid is a bit snug but I rarely snap it closed. Second out it on the floor under your legs, mine rides there daily and never tips. I love these and have a bunch of them. 20 oz gets me about 5 hours of sipping.
I'd never ever put something by my feet while I am driving. Things happen and you can end up getting something stuck in the pedals. It's just not safe.

Why are we trying to avoid using our cup holders instead of seeking out a mug that fits?

I have one of these in the cream color which I got on the last sale. I absolutely love this mug. I bought another in black. Good looking out.

I have this mug, and can share my experience. While I like the idea of this mug' stability - to prevent tipping over my desk was the reason I bought it, - the design of the lid opening is poor: very hard to open, and it doesn't close properly either. Maybe due to the lid flip design, the overall insulation isn't great, with the mug maintaining a hot tea for barley an hour.
