This is a POS wire stripper. It did not work with a 12 gauge wire. Get a good basic wire stripper from HD instead and make your DIY wiring a lot easier.

I have the Klein tools version of this and they work fantastic, easier than regular wire strippers for small wires and worked great with 10g wire for my barn.

I worked at RadioShack for years, and even with the abundance of wire strippers and crimpers at our disposal, our teeth were the tools of choice a good part of the time LOL

I have this one - https://a.co/d/795Wrfg and has worked flawlessly for years, again I do not "strip" all day and night long, not sure what other "strippers" from HD or Lowes would provide.
