Even though the human eye cant discern the pixels at that resolution, there is a huge difference when viewing 8k vs 4k. I have a sammy 85" 8k qled in one room and a 75" 4k qled in the front room and you can clearly see the difference in picture quality, even when the 8k upscale 4k content. That said, im comparing two Sammy devices side by side..I cant say that the TCL brand will be the same quality. Best is to go to a store and see in real life.

This TV was released in 2021, unless you have a use case for 8k you can do better with more recent models.

I have this in a 65" and don't recommend it. While HDR content looks pretty good, SDR is mediocre and the the viewing angle sucks. Roku also stopped updating this TV's operating system which means very common apps (HBO, Apple, Spotify) are no longer supported. I am actively replacing it.
