No reason to get this when the Elitebook G8 is for the same price but with a better processor. It also goes down to $220 regularly. Also, the 11th Gen Intel model of this laptop is just a few bucks more and that would be a better choice if you really desire a ThinkPad.
Only reason to get this is if you really desire the that thinkpad trackpoint. Even then with this outdated processor, it should be below $200.

Build quality - maybe. CPU - Depends on the processor. If it had been gen 2 AMD for this price, it would have been a much better deal. Another thing to consider with Thinkpads are the quality of displays. Most come with poor color gamut coverage since it is aimed for business crowd who don't need color fidelity. It's mostly a lottery which display you would get. More often than not, it won't be super bright or super accurate.

"No reason to get this"....

...."Only reason to get this is if you really desire the that thinkpad trackpoint."

Wow. What a rollercoaster you've taken us on!

....and your post got cut off just as you were going to link that EliteCrook Gr8 that's a better deal. Odd. Oh well.

As someone who HAS dealt with HP on a professional level....I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy.

They're such a mixed bag when it comes to build quality. You'll be troubleshooting random glitches all the time. And their customer support is excruciatingly miserable -- and that's with a corporate account. I can't imagine a one-off purchase from the general public consumer is going to get any better.
