Knockoffs are designed to look the same, but the performance and build quality could be different. Considering the cost difference is so small I would rather go with the thermopro which has seemingly had a presence for a while.

This one reaches near final reading temp extremely fast, within a few degrees initially and you can get an idea of where it's going to settle on based on the change in temp difference 3.0 > 1.0 > .5 >.2 all this to say it's not slow, I would only consider something better if for some reason needed more accuracy with a degree.
