I have no idea about this brand/product but the price seems to be good for such a dock. Any suggestions/ideas on this?

I was looking at it but not sure if it's worth it. $10 more and you can get it with HDMI. ports are on the front. FYI you're you going to need the power cable plugged in or you won't get full speed on the NVMe drive. No adaptor included of course.

Looks nice but I can see why it's cheap. There's no reason to have a USB 2.0 port. The m.2 drive is connected by USB-C(3.2?) and not thunderbolt. The heatsink for the m.2 drive is tiny and will not handle sustained loads unless the heat is transferred to the stand somehow. It also makes the power button more recessed than it needs to be.

Probably a joke but Microcenter has had it for $399.99 for a week now. When it's in stock, Bestbuy will usually price match if you have a MC in the same state(?).

This is the lowest price ever on Mac M4 Mini if you have a micro center nearby with stock.

Alternatively you can try convincing best buy to price match. YMMV

Yeah the 10gbs USB isn't that good for NVME SSD, compared to the internal drive or USB 4/ thunderbolt. Those enclosures are usually $13.

Is this a good docking station for those who got the Mac Mini m4 from Microcenter recently? I got one and was wondering, if I should put in an NVME drive. I like the design, but if this one really is using USB and not thunderbolt, then you're compromising speed of the NVME drive. Until storage costs come down, I am not looking at upgrading the internal 256GB drive just yet.

USB 2.0 is perfectly sufficient for many peripherals like webcams, keyboards, mice. And it's only one of the three USB A ports, the other 2 are 3.2. Thinking about Thunderbolt on a $50 device ("normal" price) is crazy. It's hard to find even USB 4.0 docks at this price range.

But the Mac mini already has 1 hdmi port in the back. I guess you need more port for your unknown use case?
