Per Best Buy: Yes, this laptop model can be upgraded for both memory and storage. It has a DDR4 SO-DIMM slot for RAM that allows you to add more memory to the 8GB that is soldered to the motherboard, with a maximum of 24GB (8GB soldered + 16GB SO-DIMM). Also, it has an M.2 slot for upgrading the SSD to a larger capacity, and it is compatible with PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs.

And no USB-C charging.

Though you can spend $7.99 and get a 2-pack of right-angled adapters that work perfectly for USB-C charging, freeing up your actual USB-C port, and enabling you to leave your ASUS charger at home, for a much nicer, more portable setup.

Thanks for checking this out. Some add'l notes - figure 8 GB of DDR4 SODIMMM will be ~$40 to add. It helps that it's an older generation of memory, brought back because DDR5 has been consumed by the investment bubble for spicy autocorrect.

That M.2 slot has constraints. It has an SSD in it right now, so adding more storage will involve transferring the OS and data, then swapping in the new drive. Also, and this is important, the physical space is very tight. ASUS says only a single-sided drive will fit.

question: the official charger is rated 19V 2.37A, would it cause problem if this adapter goes 20V?

Hi there. I don't actually know for certain, but I seriously doubt it as I believe there is some leeway built into the specs. I've been using adapters like this on many different laptops for many years. I have never had a problem.

But again, I cannot say definitively that you couldn't possibly run into some issue. I can only say I have not.
