But ultimately the 14700HX was just terribly inefficient and annoying to deal with. The OLED looks dope and the weight difference is noticeable. But above all, this laptop rarely ever runs hot. Whereas the Gen 9 ran hot all the time, even just watching youtube videos and browsing the internet.

The new model is the way to go, but you have to deal with reflective OLED and the same bad battery life. If you have extra money to spare, maybe the Zephyrus G16 is a better all-around laptop, but it's much more pricey.

Please go with:
1. Core Ultra 7 255HX if you want the exact same performance but a cooler chip and still have bad battery life on the laptop. (available on Legion 7i or 5)
2. Ryzen 7 350 if you care about battery life while not gaming/general use, cooler than 255HX, less general performance, and comparable gaming performance. (Only on Legion 5)
Takeaway: please stay away from Intel's 14th gen!
My choice would be Ryzen's one!
That's true across the economy.
If people stop being gouged, inventories will surge, sales will plummet, and retailers and manufacturers will be forced to adjust pricing down to compensate.
My suspicion is as much of the inflation is opportunism as it was structural...basically companies just brazenly raising prices believing consumers will accept it, and they did, and that happened everywhere and continued until recently.
A self fulfilling prophecy fueled by greedy corporations mixed with ignorant consumers/voters with zero self control and a bloated corrupt government that's printed dollars to oblivion = insane prices.
How does it handle Linux and have the Chinese stopped embedding spy chips in these things yet?
I'm just happy this Gen 10 doesn't have any of those issues and it runs as cool as my AMD Legion Slim 7 from 2022.
