The Sterilite gasket box is mainly valued as a dry, sealed storage bin, especially for 3D printer filament, desiccant, and other moisture sensitive items. The 20 quart size fits about four to five 1 kilogram spools and also works for cigar storage with Boveda packs. The latching lid and gasket are the big draw, with the bins also stacking neatly and fitting Ikea Kallax cubes. The main drawback is shipping, since many arrive cracked, broken, or missing lids or gaskets, so in store pickup is the safer route. The price also appears to be close to normal everyday pricing.

Recently I bought some glassware from Walmart and it was delivered broken so I requested a return. Some person in a random car picked it up, and maybe 5 minutes later someone else is knocking at my door to pick up my return. I said it'd already been picked up, and the person starts complaining about the Spark app and that he'd driven 15 miles. That's really not my issue, and if my glassware was packaged properly - with padding or packing material, not just thrown in an envelope - there wouldn't be a return in the first place. Argh.

It blew my mind when I found out WallyMart also sends people to retrieve returns!

I had requested a return on some socks that were advertised improperly and im fairly certain the entire process of shipping+pickup was way more costly than these mis-advertised socks

The 20 Quart size bins fit very nicely in the Ikea Kallax cube bookcases. One note though - I've had plenty of these bins shipped to me from Walmart. About 1 in 4 would arrive damaged in some way, or missing a lid or gasket. It's definitely worth going to the store to pick them up.
I've got about ten of these. One of which I still need to get to the store to exchange - corner of the lid was broken off. They've all been delivered direct from store.

I guess that give us users some idea about not tossing them around. Not nearly as fragile as some others in normal use but they don't really like impact.

I have had some bust from an empty tote dropping maybe about 12" on concrete, or 12 or so inches onto another one of these totes. They are much more fragile than you'd initially think. At least, substantially more fragile than I would have assumed prior to having experience with them.

And they do not like the cold. Wether outside garage cold environment or basement cool concrete on the bottom corners.

I certainly believe that. I don't have experience keeping any outside but assume it would make them even more susceptible to damage. I wish we had a lot more affordable airtight/weatherproof clear storage options.

Always a total @&#$-show with WalMart.

I order for pickup, they bring broken bins out.
I order for delivery, they fail to deliver.
They run out, they still accept orders
They dont cancel, they string you along
Their agents lie on the phone about processing a refund
They mark the orders picked up when they objectively were NOT

All in all I ***made*** 35 bucks off of them due to all the BS they put me thru -- and I have no bins to show for it. I dont know wtf I'm gonna use 35 bucks in WalMart credit for when they cant even handle a purchase of 2 plastic containers.

I could go on with at least 10 other things that happened during a simple order for 2 bins from WalMart, but I think the point is clear.

You gotta really hate yourself and life to wanna shop with these clowns.

Target has better quality and color for same price.
Target doesnt carry individual gasketed 32s, and the Sterilite they have starts in quantities of 4. In fact, Target isnt remotely comparable for any of these 3 listed items.

The gasket matters.
