Tool alone is $30 when it goes Front Page. It's a great tool but mine failed after 1 1/2 years of light use. Started making an awful grinding racket and started smoking. Mind you, light use means topping off tires, not inflating from empty.

Ryobi warranty was good though: 3 years. Contacted them and they're sending a new one in exchange.

I got the tool only for BF and it's great.

I was using a cheap Chinese ALLCAPS brand prior to and it was awful. Loud, slow, and vibrates across the pavement.

This one is rock solid and much quieter. Already filled 8 tires without a complaint whatsoever.

Anyone know if this is hackable? (If that's a thing still)

I want another of these. For quick and easy tire care, this is phenomenal. I use it every few months the for all the cars. Works perfectly. I throw it in the back on long trips as well "just in case".
Definitely quilter than the high pressure inflator. (Have that as well)

I think HD has been denying returns without everything but I could be wrong. These go on sale regularly so it should be on sale again in a month or two.

I can't remember seeing a Ryobi deal before that included batteries but not a charger. Is that common?

I bought it because I wanted something to inflate balloons, I got better performance from the small high pressure inflator than larger Inflator/Deflator. Even with the additional tips it was cumbersome and just awful to use.
I returned it the next day.

I'll stick with this little one!

This thing runs audibly faster with the 9ah battery, hope it doesn't affect longevity

Not hackable. When you add to cart, the ones you can hack is when the tool is a different line item from the batteries. This item comes packaged as one price.

I have this in my car along with my Ryobi jump starter.

I got mine as a stand-alone a year ago. It's been a great tag along for the family bikes, but taps off our cars just fine. Tempted to get this just to have an extra in the car and 2 spare batteries.

Overheating is the main concern for longevity. The manual gives the guideline "Allow pump to cool for five (5) minutes after each five (5) minutes of continuous use. Never block the inflating or deflating outlets while operating." If you don't feel a difference in temperature between using the 9 Ah and the lower capacity one I wouldn't worry.

I think that one is for low-pressure high-volume, like inflating pool floaties and mattresses. I have this high-pressure one for tires and it's great, but I do need the high-volume inflator too, if a tool-only deal comes around soon.
