does this show have gore-tex? I found an almost identical shoe that says it's gore-tex. Only difference is is "contact grip" is written on the side of the toe box.

No. Salomon makes most of their shoes in a standard shoe and Gore-Tex version. I much prefer non-Gore-Tex for 90% of hiking as they breath so much better. This is a great trail running and hiking shoe for $60

Do these run narrow than normal shoes like Nike and New Balance?

online reviews show they run narrow and short. have had a couple of other models of salomons and that seems to be true in general. sizes running out fast so would suggest you order asap.

insane deal. I just paid $150 for speed cross 3. Sadly, the SC3 is far better than the SC6.
I had the sc3, 4, 5 and 6 and the 6 is by far my favorite out of all of them. The SC3 lugs did not last long at all even though I did love them, the 4's lasted a bit longer and I liked all the cushion (bought 5 pairs originally and I'm down to 2 now) the 5's were my least favorite, but that was my own fault because I didn't realize they changed the sizing of the shoe and I bought two pairs that were too big (got on all sales final). The 6's are perfect with a bit roomier toe box, all the cushion and the lugs have lasted a long time so far. Every iteration though has torn through the muddy messes we get in pa so if they would have had these on sale for ladies, or even in my size (because the ladies are still 40-50 cheaper than the MSRP I would have bought several.

Sure. A lot of people hike in trail runners. I like the way these lace. I use a pair of similar Salomon as my primary backpacking shoe as I can get them on and off quickly for river crossings or going to pee in the middle of the night.
They have the best lacing system of any trail shoe I've used. I never want to go back to tie laces for trail running/marathons.

If you're a serious hiker in difficult/rocky terrain, probably not. It's not that durable. But if it's just regular flat surface then it's fine. I actually prefer running shoes over hiking shoes.
The main advantage for me of trail running shoes vs regular running shoes is the front protection provided to cover the toes against hitting rocks when hiking. I've used trail running shoes for hiking they work good, they won't last as long as hiking shoes though, but they're more comfortable
