Isn't that the same as asking why you need a front view? Just look straight through your windshield.
The purpose of a dash cam is evidence, not as a realtime monitor or sensor.

When i was an UBER/LYFT driver my camera was on all the time. Thankfully never had any terror customers. I did have a guy once ask if i had cameras i replied yes and GPS tracking, he took another UBER.

Everyone should have a dash cam - for that one time you need video proof of an accident - my 17 year old was hit by someone - the video was so great to have, showed they did nothing wrong. No dispute and police cited the other driver.

What r u talking about if you cant see the dashcam the second you get into the car you definately should not be driving and if someone does not want you to record them then they can buy their own car to drive.
Also have you never heard the term distracted driver it happens all the time the amountnof things someone could be distracted by when driving is literally endless.
Im really having a difficult time taking your question seriously
