I have XM4, XM6, QC Ultra, and PX8. I can say the sound quality on the PX8 is on a whole different level compared to the others I listed. Also the build and feel is premium/luxury compared to the others.
XM6 wins in ANC. QCU wins in comfort.
PX8 is plenty comfortable. PX8 ANC is weak compared to the others, but the engineers claim this is a trade off for the high fidelity sound.
If I had to pick one pair: PX8 100%, especially at this price.
How I use them:
Bose QC Ultra - Beater pair when doing yard work and Teams calls on one of my work computers.
Sony XM6 - My daily go to for my primary work computer and traveling.
PX8 - Treated like gold and stay in the box unless I'm doing a dedicated music listening session.

I purchased thenPX8's last time they went on sale and they are great... However the PX7 S3's went on sale a week later and totally blew these away so I returned the PX8's and kept the 7's. The new PX8 series 2 are supposed to be better than mine but I am still waiting for a sale on those.
You can't go wrong either way as both are great.
Those are Bowers & Wilkins PX8, one of the best-sounding wireless ANC headphones on the market. They were $699ā$749 at launch, and $360ā$370 is the lowest price they ever hit.
Let me break it down honestly.
š§ Bowers & Wilkins PX8 ā what you're really buying
These are luxury audiophile-tuned Bluetooth headphones, not tech-gadgets like Sony or Bose.
They use 40mm carbon-cone drivers derived from B&W's $10,000+ speaker tech. That matters.
Sound quality (their superpower)
PX8 are clearly better sounding than Sony and Bose.
You get:
Deep, textured bass (not muddy)
Rich mids (voices sound real)
Crisp but smooth highs
Big, "room-like" soundstage
If you listen to:
rock
jazz
classical
vocals
acoustic
lossless / hi-res
PX8 destroy Sony and Bose.
These are headphones for people who actually care how music sounds.
Noise cancelling
Good ā but not class-leading.
Model
ANC power
Bose QC Ultra
š„ Best
Sony WH-1000XM5

PX8 removes about 80ā85% of noise.
Sony & Bose remove 90ā95%.
You'll still hear a bit more airplane engine or bus rumble with PX8.
Comfort
PX8 uses:
real Nappa leather
aluminum frame
premium padding
They feel like a $700 product.
But:
They clamp slightly harder than Bose
Heavier than Sony
For:
2ā3 hours ā amazing
6+ hours ā Bose is more comfortable
Features (where PX8 loses)
Sony & Bose are tech monsters:
They have:
Speak-to-chat
Auto-pause
Wind reduction
Better transparency mode
Multipoint stability
Call quality
PX8:
Has ANC, transparency, EQ
But feels simple & audiophile-focused
Calls are just "okay"
App is basic
Build quality
PX8 absolutely crush Sony and Bose here.
Sony XM5 = plastic
Bose QC Ultra = plastic
PX8 = metal + leather + glass-like finish
They feel like a Rolex vs a Casio.
Now the important part ā this deal
PX8 at $364 is insane value.
Normally:
Sony XM5 = $300ā$350
Bose QC Ultra = $350ā$430
PX8 = $699
At this price: š PX8 becomes the best headphone you can buy under $400 for sound quality
You're basically getting $700 audiophile headphones for Sony money.
Who should buy PX8
You should get PX8 if:
You care about music quality
You use Spotify HQ / Apple Music / FLAC
You want premium materials
You don't need perfect ANC
You should get Sony/Bose if:
You fly a lot
You want best phone calls
You want maximum noise blocking
You like tech features
Final verdict
$364 PX8 vs $350 Sony/Bose?
For sound lovers ā PX8 wins hard
For travelers & office calls ā Sony or Bose.
Mine fell apart within a year, and had to buy replacement headband on amazon. Not hard to replace, but for this much money the quality should be better.

The PX7 S3 has the more modern tech features, better codec support (including true lossless), they updated the tuning to try to mimic PX8, and they also revamped everything around the driver; it's a huge step up forward from the PX7 S2.
But PX7 S3 is still using the bio-cellulose drivers, vs the PX8 using the objectively better carbon cone drivers.
My understanding is that PX7 S3 closed the gap quite a bit, and tuning is a bit more fun and easier to listen to, while PX8 is the more detailed, higher fidelity choice.

Despite being a long-term Sony consumer, I'm the first to admit the sound quality is lacking. The tech and call quality is superior enough that I forget the XMs don't fully deliver in their original purpose.
Thus the comments in here almost prompted me to pull the trigger on these Bowers. However, a Quick Look on the Amazon listing dissuaded me. There's too much evidence of crap build quality. I understand the Bowers use better materials but that doesn't mean as much when there's a hundred of pics of the headphones falling apart from the seams.
In contrast I fell asleep in my XM5s for YEARS before they finally broke. I was so impressed I purchased the Sony ALT to hold me over until I could get the XM6.
Compared to others, I abused my XM5s. Worked out, played basketball, slept, dropped countless times and they still looked new if not under close and heavy inspection. I'm not saying I'd repeat the same actions with the Bower..I have the XM6 for that. However, I don't think most of the reviewers with warped Bowers were that rough either.
So yea, I'm forgoing this deal, but on paper this does seem like a great deal (not to mention I love green leather accessories, still have a green Nappa Apple wallet)
