I am using this right now and it's working really well. The vent clip is very secure. All you do is turn the knob and it will retract a hook to grab onto the vent blade.

I have one of this style from Lisen, and I bought 2 more for my mom and sister. They have been ideal. For attaching permanently, the 2 separate pads for sticking to the dashboard makes it a lot more secure on slightly curved dashboards. The vent option also works very well and is more secure than the ones that simply clip onto the vents, and it is nice to have it as a second base so that I can use it when I am in a rental car while still keeping the permanent base in my own car. The magnet seems very strong as well.

I have an older version of this and it works great. Better than some of the other ones I've gotten. Holds on well. In for the newer version.
