BUYERS BEWARE.

This product does not have a built-in GPS; it estimates its location by communicating with a Samsung smartphone and using the smartphone's GPS. In theory, a Samsung smartphone with GPS enabled needs to be within a 120 m radius, and in practice, it needs to be within 30–50 m.

This isn't a great deal. These were on sale many times at around $25 and I had bought it for $25 a couple of months back

That's true for virtually all of these consumer trackers. They work by pinging local connected devices that report to the network the detection and current location. Native gps would absolutely destroy the coin cell in these.

If you want an actual gps tracker it's going to be multiples times larger and more expensive, require a sim card, and have a battery life of weeks, not months. It's an entirely different class of product.

Maybe a single tag, but this is a 4 pack. The cheapest these have been are like $10 each, but those were refurb. These are new for about $11 each.

Samsung tag is just trash. I use OpenTagViewer (https://github.com/parawanderer/OpenTagViewer) with apple airtag on my s25u and it works very well

I have 12 of these ans they work fine for me. I live in a bigger city and there might be more samsung phone users near by, but they work fine. They only thing that bothers me is that I can only be connected to 2 of these tags at a time, which means I can only get notifications of 2 items left behind. I change the batteries every 8-9 months.
I am connected to 4 right now. 2 Keychains and 2 luggages

I tried to download it on my s25 and looks like it is more complicated than just installing

I got one of them before and hooked up to my keychain. It notifies me whenever when I walk away from my keys. It has its own ring so you don't need a case. However, ring my phone function doesn't work no matter what I tried (tag has a button that can be configured on smartthings app). Ultra wide band function (getting the directions to the tag when close by) socks compared to AirTag similar to autocorrect that keeps changing sucks to socks.

Too bad they dont work half the time. Known issue. I have a set of these.
I bought these the last time they were on sale and they have been working just fine. I would certainly buy them again if I needed more. They show pretty accurate location and update quickly. I live in the suburbs of Philly and so far so good.

They're trying to help people, but that advice is only helpful to people who are highly technical.

For average users, use airtags with iphones and samsung tags with samsung phones. People will argue about which is better, but it doesn't really matter which is better unless you have both phones.

So, there is a way to use these Samsung tags on a non-Samsung phone though an app called uTag (https://github.com/KieronQuinn/uTag/) I currently have 4 tags, one setup and am fighting with a non-Samsung phone to get it to work, though most people have great success with uTag.
