It's probably just me but when I see a $15 dollar craftsman I immediately go. Yea that's probably not a good deal, likely just a Stanley set and 15 bucks sounds right.

I bought this one and the 20 dollar one. The 20 dollar one is a better small set because it has an extension and 8mm. It also has a modular screw driver, so it's a better quick travel set. Both are great quality though, and made in Taiwan.

Great quality and made in Taiwan, that's not something you hear in the same sentence everyday! Lol
It sounds backwards, but the tool community claims that Taiwan made tools tend to be just as good as USA made ones. The ones from China, of course tend to be cost-cutting junk like everything else outsourced to there.

Craftsman got bad rep years ago after Sears transition, most of the offerings were cost savings made in China. Since Lowes took over most are now made in Taiwan. Maybe not as same or equivalent to made in usa years ago but its good enough for average diyers especially for price. Craftsman Vseries made in usa wasn't successful at Lowes, customers wont pay the high price hence were on clearance.

Yea $20 set better deal; bit holder screwdriver, extension bar, few more socket well worth $5 for metricset. Think the sae set is $17.50 on Amazon now.

If anyone wants the link, as there's a few 1/4" metric ones for 20$.

Bought this at a similar price a few weeks ago. Can't get the damn sockets to push onto the ratchet. Tried with a lot of might and even a piece of wood to push against. Not sure what I'm doing wrong or if it's a defect.

It might be the spring behind the ball on the anvil. Take it to lowes warranty out a new one. I had an extension bar that was like that. Had to push in hard into socket and use pliers to remove. Springs behind the tension ball is either too stiff or wrong size/load.

Are you pushing in the button on the top of the ratchet? This looks like the type of ratchet where the retaining ball is operated by the button on the top

Thanks so much! Totally missed the button on the top/backside of the ratchet head. You made my day! 👍🍾
Had socket sets in the past and they were just push on/pull off.

@HeavyLifting had the answer. Totally missed the button on the top/backside of the ratchet head which retracts the ball. Had socket sets in the past and they were just push on/pull off.
