Highly recommend this if you plan on transferring photos from your camera to your phone on the go. Transfer speed is very fast and meets speeds for most SD cards on the market. This goes everywhere my mirrorless camera goes.

I am an Android user. But like most people I don't have a phone with qi2. I tried buying cases online that claim to have magnetic capacity but they seem so weak. I feel like I'm kind of left out of this whole mad safe trend. I know I could buy accessories that are compatible but between cases or stick on items for my phones, and then the actual things to stick them to.... But I do want to start experimenting more with it so I can get Mr Mobile's clicks communicator thing.
If you have a recent Samsung Galaxy Ultra phone, check out Caudabe cases. Very strong magnets.

Would that depend on the card as well?
For ProRes you probably want a fast SSD to avoid frustration, especially 4k/60fps. You can get a similar form factor as this hub in a 2230 NVMe SSD enclosure, but of course you need to also buy an SSD. If you shoot videos of any significant length, you will definitely want the charge port as well as the transfer port. You can also get a third port which you can use for wireless mics, if you're going that far.

the actual port on the phone is usb clol no
Yep, I humbly stand corrected. I had only used it with a wireless magsafe charger that plugs in with a USB c cord and wrongly assumed the port on the phone was the same. Still getting this for when I eventually upgrade to 16 or 17 and who knows, I might find a lightning to usb c adapter that would work with this.

I have Samsung S22-S25 phones of all shapes and sizes and the cheap no nameChinese cases with the magnets work fine. I have them on those magnetic car mounts and the S24 Ultra has no problem staying put. I also use them with the finger ring holders with no issue. Not an advertisment but the 2 no name brands I'm using currently is the WRJ and SUPFINE cases "Compatible with Magsafe"

Anyone have SD card corruption issues with this? I've used other USB card readers to temporarily move files off my iphone but had 2 instances where the cord was accidentily unplugged and once where I forgot to unmount. Worried that this wouldn't last long if the cable is snagged in your pocket/purse.

This thing sucks whenever I put the lid back on it doesn't seem to work, I see why the price drops so low.

Can you use it for copying images into the iphone, and then the iphone accepts the images and they show up in the phone's photo library?
