Walmart is really crushing it with these ~50c/lb deals on plate weights and dumbbells. It's cheaper than you usually find on the used market place, and they ship it to your door. Great find OP.

This comes up about the smell every thread. I have a number of these plates and the newer versions don't smell as bad as the older ones what I did they worked really really well multiple times is this. Warm damp cloth wipe down. Spray with dawn power wash (or lightly soaped water / dawn mixture). And wipe down again. Let dry in the sun for at least a day. I've left them out side for 2 days (dry climate) and never smell them again.

I've purchased these previously and people need to know that they stink like absolute cancer. The odor is so potent that it makes you choke and question health concerns. I must have scrubbed and cleaned them twice and they still smell like toxic waste. Also, the 25lb plates are the size of 45lb plates, which is find hilarious 😂.

I'll have to retry. I left them outside in the sun a whole day and it was still potent after cleaning. Maybe powerwash helps.

I've done all of this. Matter of fact, I just finished doing it a second time and they are absolutely horrible smelling still. Some of them smell worse than others though. I'm close to selling them as my gut is telling me it's terrible for my health to inhale.

They're bumper plates so they're supposed to be big to be easier to lift off the floor when on the dumbbell. I just wiped mine with Lysol wipes a few times and let them dry in the garage. They have no smell now.

I've bought several of these deals over the last month, I have no clue what all the moaning about the smell, they have a very mild rubber smell at worst.
