PSA: if you game at 4k, you do not need some super beefy processor.
Your gpu dictates upper limit of fps.

Please check this benchmark site for great comparisons

Good to get X3D, though, as it still helps 1% lows.

Should be noted that the X3D2 version of this chip is rumored to be released soon. That is the successor gaming line focused CPU.

9950X3D2 > 9900X3D > 7800X3D

Good to know. Guess I'll keep rocking my 7950X3D for the time being.

Yeah man if you on a x3d chip right now you are very good.

There are some games that would benefit but not many, and honestly not much.

If you are using PC to make money with like video tendering, it makes sense to upgrade.

Tech YouTubers refuse to run 4k benchmarks because of this, but a lot of people see the huge gains on low 1080p settings and think it's worth it

Yeah, I got the chip as a placeholder just a couple months before the 9xxx series was released, same with the 4070tiS in advance of the 5xxx series drop. I do CAD to make money and game on the same rig (8K monitor - 8K@60/4K@120) but I don't have the wallet to fight billion dollar ML companies for a top of the line video card.
