Sharing based on personal experience (might not be same for others):
I purchased a similar set of 4 Kasa smart plugs from Amazon last year and sent over a couple of these to my family overseas. One of the unit that I still have in US started behaving weird after around 7 months of normal usage. It would keep resetting itself and disconnecting from the WiFi network. After observing this behavior for over a couple of weeks I reached out to tp-link kasa support and the experience has been outright frustrating with no resolution.
  • First off they asked me to share videos and upload images to verify the issue. It took me sometime to capture the details and upload the video on YouTube and share it with them because it was an intermittent issue and not instantly reproducible
  • After they were convinced that the issue is indeed there (or at least I assumed that they are convinced that there is a genuine issue), they asked for product images serial number etc again.
  • After a couple of days, I got an email which is the most weird warranty replacement process I have ever seen: TP-Link Kasa asked me to return all of the four plugs back and not just the one faulty unit and on top of that asked me to fill an online application with card/bank details for them to charge me in case my claims were incorrect and also mentioning that they will be sending the replacement only after receiving all the 4 set of plugs back.
  • I tried to follow up with them on email but it was all in vein. Basically, they either assumed that I am trying to fake things or just have this ridiculous process to deter users from reaching out to them.
  • All this ordeal took over a month with no resolution. I ended up discarding that faulty plug since I cannot return all four units back.
I am never buying again from Kasa unless its at throwaway price which I am ok not getting any support.

NOT a $70 product. I have bought them for 5 a piece. Not the best deal.
