Hold off for Intel Panther Lake. 60% improved CPU / GPU performance with similar if not improved battery life. I haven't been excited for an intel product since birth. AMD really lost this year. Invested in intel and up 20% the last few days

Intel removed hyperthreading for this particular architecture. I'm seeing that it's for security reasons, but don't quote me on that. In the real world, unless you know you need the performance, it wouldn't make a material difference. The efficiency & performance per watt is quite great with this generation. Panther Lake is supposed to be even better (especially integrated GPU performance).

So far, it's all marketing. YouTubers are hyped up about it, but be patient and wait until the real world benchmarks. Also, the hyped up integrated GPU is only in the top of the line X7/X9 variants (and to a lesser extent the Ultra 5 338H), which would not be the successor to the 258V in this one. Not only that, a new version of this laptop sporting the Series 3 certainly isn't going to be $1,100 (let alone laptops that have the top of the line CPUs). Intel pulled another Intel with the alphanumeric mess of CPU names, where one Ultra 9 could be vastly different to another Ultra 9 (i.e. Ultra X9), where the average shopper may not realize the difference.
Don't just join the hype train, but be thorough, patient, and informed/informative.

Some people like thin & light with a small footprint, while others like large screens and high-performance.
LG did a great job with the Gram line of laptops where you can have some of both - a lightweight laptop with a large screen.

There is always something better around the corner. Its going to be months from now with a high price and limited availability, partially due to RAM availability. By the way, this is not the Pro model with the better screen and speakers. I wanted the 16" pro to get near this price at the end of last year but it never did.

IMHO this is a good price for this machine.

Regarding the performance discussion, no one expects a super ultra portable to be a speed demon. We buy it for the portability, and the performance is good enough.

Unless you need this right away, would probably hold out. This model has been $1000 before at Best Buy, and $900 at LG Partner Store within the last 6 weeks.

Got this during BF sales, it's been fantastic. Battery life is phenomenal as it lasts for days with around 4-5 hours a day usage and still has charge. keyboard and touchpad have a good feel. I do agree with early post about why offset the touchpad so much from the keyboard. But it's smart enough to not register unwanted movement when your palms is resting on the touchpad typing. Been using it for online classes, video editing and file conversion along with heavy python and excel workloads.
