Sadly just yesterday it was announced that the FCC has granted Verizon waiver so as of today any purchases moving forward they will no longer have to adhere to the 60-day policy. And there was no restrictions at all as far as I could see I don't know if it's going to be 12 months concurrent or what.

But unless you plan on using visible or straight talk or whatever for 12 months these deals are basically dead in the water now. Or unless you plan on using them as a Wi-Fi only device which I suppose could be practical for these Motorola phones since they have headphone jacks and SD cards.

So I mean you could do worse than a Moto G stylus 2025 as a music player but. ... Just terrible he depressing anti-consumer news again from the current FCC

It's too late as of today Verizon no longer has to do the 60 day unlocking because they were giving away her from the current FCC. I mean I'm sure word will get around on these comments sections but I do wonder what's going to happen to edge cases people that bought a phone a week ago or two weeks ago or whatever. Anecdotally I can say my Moto G Stylus 2025 that I bought in November seems to have been automatically unlocked in the sense that when I switched my infamobile SIM card over it still works. So far anyway.

But boy I mean I bought that maybe 80 days ago. I don't know what happens to people that bought a phone a week ago or yesterday. I don't know if the grandfathering in of the 60 day is the date of purchase or the date of activation or the date of delivery.

The worst part is the FCC didn't give them any restrictions at all so far as I could tell in the judgment. It wasn't like 60 days isn't going to work but no more than 180 days or no more than 120 days. Just a complete placating to the telecom industry.

Might sound like a dumb question but does it need to be turned on at least once inside USA territory in order to be activated, or do they literally only care about you paying for the 60 days of service? I plan to have this phone shipped to my country, and the first boot would literally be outside the USA.
for the phone to be activated it has to talk back, it has to be in US for that to happen.

So if straight talk is Verizon network, and I use USMobile's Verizon network, would that work with sim or e-sim till it unlocks?

It's not just the network, it's the owner of the MVNO. Straight Talk, Tracfone, Total Wireless, Visible are all owned by Verizon. US Mobile is not.

I just ordered this Stylus phone last week. Can I order the second phone with adding plan for $30?

Has ST shipped your phone? Mine still has the Pending Remote Fulfillment status.

Need to move an older relative's landline number (ATT) to a cellphone. Unsure of the steps necessary to get this accomplished, but wanted to ask if y'all think Straightalk would be a better company to do this with (eg, less hassle, smoother transition) than say, Tracfone, Verizon, etc. If too OT, please PM. Thanks so much!!
Sign up for the wireless home line service. It's cheaper, but you have to buy the cell phone base station. Then you connect your regular home telephone to the wireless base station... I pay under $20 per month for this with straight talk. Walmart sells the base station for about 50 to $100... You don't get any data capabilities with this service.

I ordered one over a week ago. Still says pending remote fulfillment. They're apparently OOS. I may cancel and just buy at Walmart. Same deal for 1.

Lots of what seems to be mis-information in this thread. From what I'm gathering, you must have 60 days of active service for the phone to unlock.

Does this mean for month 2, you can use their cheapest plan and it'll still unlock? I assume so, but want to be sure.

So, after reading and seeing people were stuck on pending, I went to Walmart and got this deal. Got home and they shipped my order... Now I have to figure out how to return/cancel 1. LOL I guess check Walmart if you need it quick.

They usually don't cancel orders, they tell you to refuse delivery & wait for the credit.
I'd return for refund at WM if you still can.

Multiple line discounts. First phone is $45 plan, second is $30.
That's still $75 for 30 days. You have to pay another $75 for second 30 days.

As already said, multi-line discount. You don't have to pay for the 2nd month if you don't want to. That's only if you want to unlock the phones.
Well of course we want to unlock the phones 😆
