Do you have other Tracfone, total wireless, QVC orders/phones?
No. I ordered 2 iPhone 16 e from metro in December. Nothing else from mvno's.

I see. Hopefully, that will be the case.
Still not sure if it's worth risking paying for the second month of service, though.
I would hold off unless you're willing to deal with a locked phone.

FWIW I just had a 60 days active phone unlock after the FCC order, so nothing's changed yet.

When I ordered mine, I was in the clear for the 2 month unlock. During the shipping delay, FCC dropped their ruling. So I picked up the phones after the policy expired, along with 2 non-returnable, non-refundable cell plans. I have a problem with this from a contractual perspective. I don't think a vendor can sell merchandise that is misrepresented. They should honor the purchase date, not the activation date. The offered price was changed significantly without notice.
This is why I don't think they will change and make it retroactive. This will cause many problems with existing customers and a class action breach of contract waiting to happen.

I would activate them ASAP to lock in the current policy terms. Chat with CS to clarify before activation (and save the chat) for evidence.

I bought a 2024 moto g power as a second phone and I gotta say I kinda like it better than my iphone 14. I think Android has finally caught up to apple.

Thats my thinking as well.

I have 2 now and will do the 2nd month as soon as the first runs out.
So anyone that got theirs should activate ASAP.

How long did it take from order to delivery? If they will ship mine, I think I will be able to activate it before it's delivered.

Maybe a week or less. They are pretty quick and I activated online. So did that and turned the phone off/on and was done.

There are about a good hour+ long updates needed. So run those after you activate.

If you activate the phone after the FCC decision, Verizon/Straight Talk can retroactively apply the 1 year unlock rule. This is from the FCC order "32. Prospective Application of the Waiver. This waiver is effective upon release and, as requested by Verizon, will remain in effect until such time as the Commission decides on an appropriate industry-wide approach for the unlocking of handsets.114 The terms of this waiver apply to all handsets that become active on Verizon's network beginning the day after the release date of this Order. The prospective application of this waiver will minimize customer confusion and interference with existing contractual arrangements and service agreements. Upon the release of this waiver, Verizon has stated that it will change its unlocking policies to follow those set out in the CTIA Consumer Code." Anybody can look up the FCC order. Just Google DA-26-43A1.pdf.

For people who ordered this recently, how long does it take to ship? I ordered for more than a day, and it still shows "pending remote fulfillment". Also, I had to use the order status link in the original order email to see the status, and if I click on details for the order in my account page, it will give me an error.
I'm in the same situation. Ordered Jan 11 and see the same things as you and can only check status via link in email. I chatted online with them yesterday and said item is sold out but wait 5-7 days. Who knows if that's true but that's what I was told.

We'll see if they change to 6 or 12 months.

Once order approved, they ship 2-day air so pretty fast.

Supposedly once they add phone to account, you can try activating it before it arrives. You'll see a 'Security Alert!' that a new line has been added to account.
