Sadly just yesterday it was announced that the FCC has granted Verizon waiver so as of today any purchases moving forward they will no longer have to adhere to the 60-day policy. And there was no restrictions at all as far as I could see I don't know if it's going to be 12 months concurrent or what.

But unless you plan on using visible or straight talk or whatever for 12 months these deals are basically dead in the water now. Or unless you plan on using them as a Wi-Fi only device which I suppose could be practical for these Motorola phones since they have headphone jacks and SD cards.

So I mean you could do worse than a Moto G stylus 2025 as a music player but. ... Just terrible he depressing anti-consumer news again from the current FCC

It's too late as of today Verizon no longer has to do the 60 day unlocking because they were giving away her from the current FCC. I mean I'm sure word will get around on these comments sections but I do wonder what's going to happen to edge cases people that bought a phone a week ago or two weeks ago or whatever. Anecdotally I can say my Moto G Stylus 2025 that I bought in November seems to have been automatically unlocked in the sense that when I switched my infamobile SIM card over it still works. So far anyway.

But boy I mean I bought that maybe 80 days ago. I don't know what happens to people that bought a phone a week ago or yesterday. I don't know if the grandfathering in of the 60 day is the date of purchase or the date of activation or the date of delivery.

The worst part is the FCC didn't give them any restrictions at all so far as I could tell in the judgment. It wasn't like 60 days isn't going to work but no more than 180 days or no more than 120 days. Just a complete placating to the telecom industry.

Not sure if the deal expired or because of order system issue, while in cart price shows both phone are free I was charged $293 for two phones and two silver lines to credit card. Please make sure you double check your total before placing the order.
Now I have to deal with the package refusal. What a hassle!
Deal still working for me just now. $75 plus some fees for 2 phones and 2 silver plans. Did you select, "I'm new to TracFone" before you added the phones to your cart?

I did not. But in cart price still shows $75, even for now. But once I login the account, the price changed to $199 + tax + $75. I did not notice the change during the checkout.

Maybe you are an existing customer and already made a purchase with them before?

Hmm. My wife and I use Tracfone. I wonder if we could buy this, and then have them 'requisition' (is that the right word) to Tracfone, and port our current lines over?

Or would it require us to pay the $150 for 2 months of both phones, unlock, and THEN xfer our lines over?
Yes, just choose 'I want to use an existing number' when activating. Not sure about this one, but with the 1 year plan they will combine the two plans together extending it one more year.

The $75 already include one month (one for each phone/line) so you'll only have to pay for 2nd month to unlock.

Why would you complete an order with the wrong total?

I just read through every post here and just want to confirm/clarify a few things, (apologies up front!)

Straight Talk offers a "Free" Moto G Stylus 2025 with the purchase of a at least a "Silver" service plan that retails for $45 (without Auto-Pay), for one month.

If I don't renew after that period, this phone will remain locked regardless of the recent ruling. But the takeaway is basically $45 for a modern day iPod Touch, (free to use on Wi-Fi or offline mp3, camera, etc).

If I re-up for a second 30 day plan, (as cheap as the Bronze package at $35 without AutoPay), the phone might unlock and could be moved to basically any carrier.

If Verizon enforces the ruling from Jan 12th and requires a one year waiting period, does this constitute 1 year of service or just 1 year after activation?

From the ArsTechnica article [arstechnica.com]:
.

I think I like the idea of a household iPod Touch for under $50, but just trying to see if this would eventually become unlocked as spare/backup phone a year from now if I should find myself in a bind.

Any insight is appreciated!
Ordered one for a similar purpose not even going to bother activating the service. Just a dedicated display for drones.
I will say the display on this did not disappoint.

I started out with Straight Talk 20-ish years ago. Can't understand why anyone would go with them now as there are so many other more affordable prepaid options out there.
