Sadly just yesterday it was announced that the FCC has granted Verizon waiver so as of today any purchases moving forward they will no longer have to adhere to the 60-day policy. And there was no restrictions at all as far as I could see I don't know if it's going to be 12 months concurrent or what.

But unless you plan on using visible or straight talk or whatever for 12 months these deals are basically dead in the water now. Or unless you plan on using them as a Wi-Fi only device which I suppose could be practical for these Motorola phones since they have headphone jacks and SD cards.

So I mean you could do worse than a Moto G stylus 2025 as a music player but. ... Just terrible he depressing anti-consumer news again from the current FCC

It's too late as of today Verizon no longer has to do the 60 day unlocking because they were giving away her from the current FCC. I mean I'm sure word will get around on these comments sections but I do wonder what's going to happen to edge cases people that bought a phone a week ago or two weeks ago or whatever. Anecdotally I can say my Moto G Stylus 2025 that I bought in November seems to have been automatically unlocked in the sense that when I switched my infamobile SIM card over it still works. So far anyway.

But boy I mean I bought that maybe 80 days ago. I don't know what happens to people that bought a phone a week ago or yesterday. I don't know if the grandfathering in of the 60 day is the date of purchase or the date of activation or the date of delivery.

The worst part is the FCC didn't give them any restrictions at all so far as I could tell in the judgment. It wasn't like 60 days isn't going to work but no more than 180 days or no more than 120 days. Just a complete placating to the telecom industry.

FWIW mine got the android 16 update today, you can try and see if fixed on that.
I'm expecting that it also broke the screenshot editor, just like upgrading did to my '22 and '23 versions. Auto-shape is forced and can't be disabled. Probably some conflict with Moto Note because the editor works fine with my non-stylus models.

Question I ordered this and selling one of the phones, I didn't see any cards in the box for the first free month of service how does that work? Is it tied to the imei of the phone?
Enter the IMEI during activation. Phone uses eSIM

It's the hand drawing that's affected. Curve, underline, etc. Try drawing separate letters of the alphabet or numbers.
A couple examples on '23 Stylus:

Not surprised. I'll relegate it to wifi-only duty then.

I don't think this is correct. They have pSIMs already inserted. I got 2, and both are activated on pSIM, not eSIM. But, as for the question, yes, the 1st month of service is tied to the IMEI.

I bought 2 phones. It seems that for the 2nd month, I will be charged the same $45 + $30 if I renew with AutoPay. If I downgrade to Bronze, I will be charged $35 + $35, or $34 + $34 w/ AutoPay. So the difference is like $7?

Don't forget the taxes/fees. When I went to add a $35 plan at ST it was over $39. I checked same $35 plan at Walmart and was charged less than $1.50 in fees, not sure what ST is adding.

I just refilled my 2 phones at ST. The Silver plan $45 + $30 w/o auto-pay. They waived fees... $78.47 out of the door charged.

Yup, this specific season of the party is over. Sadly. More importantly this was anyway over when the unlocking thing broke.

Why waste your time and waste the time of SD readers here? Any Tracfone family of brands meaning prepaid that are owned and operated by Verizon will work. If you have a new or active sim. If you have a Tracfone BYOD sim (new) it will work on Tracfone and you do not have to rebrand the phone. Visible is owned by Verizon, it will work.

The Moto 5G Stylus 2025 will work on Tracfone, Straight Talk, Simple Mobile, Total Wireless, Walmart Family Mobile, SafeLink, Net10 Wireless and Page Plus if those last two still exist.

It's best to remove a device from Straight Talk in the app before activating on another Tracfone brand carrier. Then resume service on the above list. I expect reps for this information.
demanding reps NOICE LOL ....so i bought 2 of these but changed policy while shipping to myself .....bummer but r u saying i could do the visible 19 a month deal for a year or a cheap trac phone plane for a year anf the phone will unlock? thanc for any info ...AND YES REPPED MY LORD Smilie

Thanks for letting me know. I was about to toss this phone in the drawer for a few months to see if Moto would resolve the problem. I probably wouldnt have know about the Android 16 update for a while if you didnt comment.
As soon as I turned on my Stylus with sim card inserted, it immdiatley began downloading Android 16. That was a bit disconcerting, considering I didn't authorize it to do so. After it finished the update, it lost the network, but a reboot brought it back. As luck would have it, USB tethering was repaired and is now working as expected. Hotspot also works. Hopefully this new update didnt break other things, but I haven't had much time to explore all the options I use.
Thanks again!

Yeah, Moto G Stylus (2023) should work since it's still on Android 14. I'm hoping Motorola will have a fix in place for the next update. Otherwise, it looks like I'll have to use my old phone for a while longer.

For your second phone, I'd recommend avoiding Wi-Fi to prevent automatic updates using your cellular/mobile data without your consent.

Just tested with my work Verizon post-paid SIM and it's won't work (says Network Locked).
Android 16 update was released today and repaired the USB tethering issue. It began downloading as soon I turned on my Stylus with sim card inserted. That was a bit disconcerting, considering I didn't authorize it to do so. After it finished the update, it lost the network, but a reboot brought it back online. Not sure if A16 broke other things along the way, but seem to be running well for normal functions.
The first time I tried to test USB tethering on A16, it wouldn't connect and gave an error. I disconnected, rebooted for the second time and gave the phone an hour to optimize the new cache. Then I tired again and its been working fine ever since.
Thanks again for all your help.
