No experience if its power- with a quality low-kerf/vibration blade- would handle, say, LPE, but it's an easy purchase to try out, and would be a keeper esp for less " smoother" more reclaimed look.
BTW, for those that like compact storage and less work cutting foam, kaizentoolinserts has CNC'ed inserts that allow this track saw to fit in the lower-profile packout (#49-22-8425). Have to remove some of the ribbing(?) of the lid to clear, but, if a hassle, should then fit the standard height model (which would normally need the XL height one, anyways).
Track rail storage/transport/protection - anyone tried a quick DIY scheme, or any of the 3D-printed adapters ( https://www.yeggi.com/q/tracksaw/ )?

Chose the M18 saw+ track deal since the track is a $149 add-on.
For a battery, the 2x 5.0ah starter kit free tool deals were hackable whereby you ended up paying $82 for the kit on a $199 purchase when HD split the items up on the bill. $41 a battery + & "free charger" is a nice way to build your own complete bundle on the saw. 😉
I have a table saw but I don't like to use it. Scares me to operate and I can never seem to get the entire length perfectly square.
I have a 4.5" DeWalt circ saw that I have used w a straight edge to rip sheet goods or my bora straight edge clamp if it's on the 4ft dimension but it always takes so much time to setup.
Those who have one tell me I will wonder what I did without it.
Total luxury tool for a DIYer but I am also setting myself up w the packout to store it.
I had previously bought the Ridgid daily deal for $399 that came w the track but also a 6ah battery and charger and 1 clamp. Lifetime service agreement (warranty) and cheaper tracks as well as a router accessory option to also use w the tracks were some advantages as I already own some ridgid tools including the router.
Returned the Ridgid once I decided on the M18.
In the end, I paid about the same w my M18 starter kit hack though adding extra track and accessories is more costly but I like the fact that Milwaukee went w industry std track specs and in a few years, if I choose to sell my track saw the Milwaukee will be worth more and sell quicker. I also like the options for Packout storage on the m18.
PS: HD has a $109 deal to get the clamps and 31" track. By far the most cost-effective option as i think that short track will come in handy and the clamps are $40 on their own.
Any other good options for clamps beyond the Milwaukee?
PPS: one other stupid factor w the Ridgid bundle: it only came w 1 clamp? Wtf? Wouldn't u need a clamp on both ends of the track? 🤔
