Starting 01/27/2026 you need to pay taxes and fees. Taxes and fees depend on your service address and go to third parties such as municipal and state governments.

Taxes/fees aren't the only thing. They are cutting back to essentially 1 GB of data. They say it's still 3, but the other 2 are through their hotspots, and where I live they are very sparce in useless locations.

These fees don't go to Helium. Only to the taxing agencies. Still worth it for some. I'm on the fence and may just go with Redpocket's annual tiny plan from eBay for $30.

Question: If you request port out PIN and account #, do they kill your plan even if you do not successfully port out?

I got caught off-guard by Tracfone. Tried to get a Metro phone deal but could not get it and found out TF killed the account simply because I asked for port out info. They say they assume you are leaving when you request it.
