$580 but you need a microcenter

https://slickdeals.net/f/19051264-micro-center-asrock-challenger-radeon-rx-9070-xt-16gb-gddr6-graphics-card-580-free-store-pickup?src=rcm_disco_related_deals_popular_h

This 5070 deal ain't bad at all, especially considering it's Amazon and brand new.

12 GB is fine. 16 will be better 5 years from now but this should do the job till then.

This all seems like a reason to never buy Nvidia again.

Community Reviews

The ASUS Prime RTX 5070 is being treated as a solid 1440p upgrade, especially for swapping into an existing PC for a big jump over cards like the 2070 Super. It is also described as running cool in normal play, with the ASUS Prime cooler drawing praise for better thermals. The main hesitation is the 12GB of VRAM, which feels tight for some newer games and makes the card less compelling next to 16GB alternatives like the RX 9070 or 9070 XT. Pricing also looks only slightly below MSRP, with several nearby retailers and Micro Center offering similar or lower numbers.

You could simply upgrade the video card and wait on the full system overhaul. Anything 5000 series on AM4 shouldn't bottleneck a 5070 too much (if at all).
Also have Zen 3600 with the 2070 Super and honestly, best rig I have ever had and does everything I need it to. I ONLY, and mean ONLY do 1440 and games from about 2022 and previous. Nothing new really

So I could just get a 5070, like a Zen 7600 and all that works on my AM4 B450 MOBO?

Best upgrade would be a used 5600X. I'd recommend something 8-core like a used 5700X or 5800X since games are generally coded with 8-cores in mind since consoles (PS5 and XSX) all have 8 cores. If you want something new with a warranty, the 5800XT is readily available as well. Probably want to flash your MOBO with the latest BIOS as well before you upgrade the CPU.

Unless I am missing something a number of stores are at the same price. Best Buy, B&H, and Newegg.
B&H is $10 more, but if you have their PayBoo credit card and get the tax covered, that would save most folks like $50.

Where can you find a 9070 XT for even $600 shipped to your door? You're thinking of Nvidia, who historically abandons their old GPUs. AMD sorta does it once and now AMD is the worst for historical support? Nvidia glazers are the more oblivious.
Naw... Nvidia only just recently ended support for my old GTX 1070 and that card was released in 2016. Seven or eight years of driver support is pretty good in my book.

Oh silly. This one will be brighter than your LED when it gets really really hot.
Just in case some people think you're serious, no this card does not run hot at all. I owned this exact GPU for 3 weeks before returning it for a 5080 just for the hell of it. The only way I could get it to start getting warm was by playing some newer AAA games with all graphics settings maxed out. Otherwise, it normally stayed cooler than my CPU even while playing somewhat less demanding games.

Everyone's experiences will be different due to other factors as well. Like room temperature, computer cooling setup and other software/hardware in the computer.

The MC deal expired over a week ago, and asrock unfortunately has garbage 1 year warranties.

I dont get why 5070 GPUs are all going on sale. I thought prices are supposed to be increasing due to stopping production to divert chips for AI? Microcenter and even Walmart has a bunch of sales on 5070s too.

Probably because the 5070 is in a weird spot. The 5070 Ti is what you really want, but it is $200+ more. The 5060 Ti has more memory, but is too close in price for not enough performance. The 12GB of VRAM isn't a huge handicap today, but is nearly criminal to put that little VRAM on a card at this price range this generation. Especially when the 9060XT and 5060 Ti cards have 16GB for less money. This card is faster than both, but has less VRAM.
If you are paying this much for a card the 9070 or 9070 XT are better cards for only a bit more money. This really isn't a price range where people should be making compromises for +/- $50.
It is a shame. If NVIDIA put 16 GB of VRAM on this card it would be the goto card for mid range at this price given all its features.

Not a bad card for 1440p gaming, but this is the price drop to blow stock as the next iteration of cards is about to come out with the "super" branding attached. Prices may drop a little further when that happens.

It's not *really* on sale, $10 off MSRP. You can get the NVIDIA flagship version for $550. This one's got better cooling though the FE looks cooler.

It isn't entirely clear to me that this is a good price. 5070's have regularly been available for ~$500 for the last several months.

Are we thinking those sales will not come back? This is only $10 off 5070 MSRP.

The FE will also have better resale value if you care about that.
