$580 but you need a microcenter

https://slickdeals.net/f/19051264-micro-center-asrock-challenger-radeon-rx-9070-xt-16gb-gddr6-graphics-card-580-free-store-pickup?src=rcm_disco_related_deals_popular_h

This 5070 deal ain't bad at all, especially considering it's Amazon and brand new.

12 GB is fine. 16 will be better 5 years from now but this should do the job till then.
Oh a one off at a store that half the country isn't near and they won't ship the item out.

Except AMD will give up the 9070 3 years after release like they have gave up on the 6000 series.
6000 series still gets driver updates.

I dont get why 5070 GPUs are all going on sale. I thought prices are supposed to be increasing due to stopping production to divert chips for AI? Microcenter and even Walmart has a bunch of sales on 5070s too.
It is because of the 9070. The RX 9070 is also at $550 and it is a better card all around. The 5070 really needs to be at $500 to be a good value IMO.

At least with current prices. Once new price norms are set, that could all change.

The FE will also have better resale value if you care about that.
True I heard that. Though I heard it runs a lot hotter, like 10c higher. Helps heat your house!

Yeah noob question, so to do a new build, buying this would force me to AM5 meaning I have to get super expensive RAM correct?
Right now still on AM4 with a 2070 Super
You don't have to build a new PC. You could just swap this into your current PC in place of your 2070 Super and get a huge GPU boost.

Question. I can get this or the Zotac version from Micro Center for $500. I know that Asus is a more premium brand, but does it matter? Is it this worth paying extra for, or should I just go for the cheaper one?

A couple other considerations. I get 5% cashback with Amazon credit card. So, once you factor cashback and tax, it's only about a $16 price difference. Both have the same return window, but I do like the idea of buying from a local place if I need support.

What do the experts think? Is this worth a little bit more for the build quality and convenience, or am I better off saving a few bucks and buying from a store with a local presence?

Just in case some people think you're serious, no this card does not run hot at all. I owned this exact GPU for 3 weeks before returning it for a 5080 just for the hell of it. The only way I could get it to start getting warm was by playing some newer AAA games with all graphics settings maxed out. Otherwise, it normally stayed cooler than my CPU even while playing somewhat less demanding games.

Everyone's experiences will be different due to other factors as well. Like room temperature, computer cooling setup and other software/hardware in the computer.

Where can you find a 9070 XT for even $600 shipped to your door?
In December the Asrock Challenger and Powercolor Reaper were both $600.

And if near a Microcenter....

Yet, we are not in December. Prices have increased. And microcenter is irrelevant when I specifically said "shipped to your door."

Interesting. I don't doubt that issue exists for certain models of the 5070 but I didn't notice it with this particular ASUS PRIME model. I did notice the new NVIDIA cards got pretty hot in that spot so I purchased a GPU backplate heatsink with fans and added additional thermal padding in the square cutout area. This is the one I used:

It was a tight fit but it definitely lowered the registered temperatures by 5+ Celsius

Bad bottleneck considering I have a Ryzen 3600?

I have seen a 5060Ti run ok with a 3600

amazon partner removes the card, matches the shipping weight, and sends you something worthless in its place.
