If it's only for online orders, then you're not getting double the protein. If you're lucky, it will be a little less than a single serving.

I ordered the extra protein on the side. I feel like at least the extra protein is measurable in some way versus hoping there is extra in the meal. That being said I don't think there was same containers worth of protein in the actual meal, so yeah you may still get screwed. How hard can it be to just measure the same amount of meat for everyone?😠

at first, I thoguht this was BOGO where the free one has double protein, but after rereading, this is not BOGO and it just allows you to upgrade to a double protein for free right?

My experience is that most of the time inapp/online orders get smaller portions, however it seems like the portions at CP are mostly dependent on the person filling your order. The other day I was in line and the guy in front of me ordered a Burrito and the lady basically loaded it so much that it was hard to wrap. Then another employee steps in to fix my bowl and gives my what looks like 50% less food than this guy got. Has happened many times, which is why I don't eat there often.

And I educated myself not to waste money.

at our local Chipotle, we order online cos they give you significantly more. If you go inside it's the opposite oddly enough
It should be the other way around. The employees are more likely to skimp on portions when people aren't staring them down. Double proteins just mean a regular size meal.

Are we not sure that it is not Chipotle's own management telling them to not give more than a spoonful of meat? Because, depending on an individual's preference, what is a good amount that they should be giving? Chipotle is less regulated than a frozen yogurt place and those places have the tools to measure based on weight. So if one were to think as the employee, "Do I want to serve a customer what I think they would think is an acceptable portion vs losing my job?" I am pretty sure I am going to do what my managers request of me.Also, on this site, people can write whatever. They may state their location is skimping when this is not true because we are all subjective. The only objectivity is the fact that the employees, at their locations, follow their trainings, which is to give a spoonful and move on.
While I agree mostly with your commentary, I dont think we can objectively report that all employees "follow their trainings" unfortunately.

Wow, lots of heated debate on how to get your money's worth at Chipotle. Seems like most people are frustrated with their practices as of late. But why keep giving them your money then?

Instead of trying to lord over your burrito builder, game the online order, or steal condiments just don't go at all. I would think voting with your wallet is a much better way to get them to change their practices from the top down.

I used to love chipotle, they were a value lunch position with attention to quality. They honestly started dropping the ball prior to the pandemic and then like many others embraced being just another crappy offering. I stopped going mostly ore pandemic and don't go at all now. Cilantro rice isn't too hard to make at home.

Regarding service, am I just getting old and grumpy or did the pandemic break most people in an odd way? I feel like I see way more apathetic workers post pandemic, but it's more than just sheer laziness. It seems like a weird "the world owes me something" mentality and you're gonna get it from those around you. Unhappy to stay at home and do nothing but also unhappy to be working. "Here's you burrito I built all crappy (emo), 🤬 you, have a nice day!"

It is usually a hit or miss for me, I watch them like a hawk when they are making my bowl and if I'm not satisfied with the portions I just take a lot of extra forks, napkins and whichever Tabasco bottle that isn't opened.
I used to do the napkins and forks thing. Now I just take the juice machine..

That is odd, but then I would not think it would matter. Suppose many of these Slickdealers go in and act intimidating to get the employees to give them more, the employees actually do not have to. You are essentially at the mercy of the employees.
Why should a customer be at the "mercy" of employees when s/he is paying $15+ for a meal? You can - and should - ask for more portion if not satisfied. They will add - employees are salaried, they could care less that a billion dollar company is being asked to serve one extra spoon of rice!

When I took advantage of this last time it was like 50% more protein. Glad it was free.

Sorry if it's been asked, but can you order multiple entree items on a single order, and apply this promo to each item? I have a family of four, so it'd be nice to not have to order 4 separate orders. Thank you.
